Crazy Ralph Spotted During Filming Of Crystal Lake Series In Blairstown, New Jersey

It has been a very busy schedule of filming for the A24 production of the streaming series Crystal Lake, which has been taking place since the middle of June. More than a half dozen towns in New Jersey have played host to the show known to local residents only as Mama's Boy. Today was a very special day of filming, however, as the franchise returned to it's original roots and to one of the towns that started it all, Blairstown, New Jersey.

Blairstown, of course, was one of a number of locations used in the production of Friday The 13th 1980 (Check out our filming locations page for the original film to see all of the areas used to make the first movie a slasher success). There are a number of infamous scenes in the small town in New Jersey that were filmed, which take place immediately following the prologue of Friday The 13th 1980. Fans will have the opportunity to relive the old town once again when Crystal Lake debuts on Peacock in 2026.

It was very fitting that today, not only did a Friday The 13th production return to Blairstown, 45 years after the original film was released in theaters, but two very familiar characters were on the set of the fictional town of Crystal Lake. Pamela Voorhees and Crazy Ralph (aka Ralph Neeley) were witnessed interacting in scenes today in Blairstown and Dave Brown on Facebook posted a good number of photos from today's shoot for fans to see.

It was no secret that Crazy Ralph was going to be in the show as that character was announced back in July, and now you can see actor Nick Cordileone portray one of the most beloved characters of Friday The 13th.

The series takes place in the early 1970's (reported to be 1971) and is currently in production in numerous towns in New Jersey.

The new Friday The 13th series is run by Brad Caleb Kane and produced by Horror Inc., Marc Toberoff and Victor Miller (Friday 13th LLC). The series is produced by A24 and will be distributed on the Peacock streaming service.
