New Behind The Scenes Video Shows Unused Jason Goes To Hell Demon Puppets In Action

Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday is truly the most divisive film in the Friday The 13th franchise. Many fans dismiss the film and it’s place among the pantheon of Crystal Lake and Jason Voorhees. Regardless of your feelings, there is no denying the special effects created by legendary effects group KNB is the best in the history of the films so far.

One of the infamous scenes in Jason Goes To Hell is the end scene where hell demons arrive to drag Jason Voorhees to hell. The demons emerge from underneath the ground to pull the killer down in a great farewell. To achieve this scene, KNB originally developed an elaborate set of puppets, including a fully functioning Jason puppet. There was a large table that had demon puppets along with Jason that had mechanics built in to establish the climactic scene. Ultimately, it was decided that the puppet effect would not work well on film, so the production turned to using life size demons for the scene.

Just recently, a never before seen behind the scenes video was posted in a popular Jason Goes To Hell Facebook group. Check out the video below and witness how this entire effect could have functioned on film.

Jason Voorhees, the living, breathing essence of evil, is back for one fierce, final fling. Tracked down and blown to bits by a FBI task force, everyone now assumes that he's finally dead. But everybody assumes wrong. Jason has been reborn with the bone-chilling ability to assume the identity of anyone he touches. The terrifying truth is he could be anywhere. Or anybody.

In this shocking, blood-soaked finale to Jason's carnage-ridden reign of terror, the horrible secret of his unstoppable killing instinct is finally revealed. And once you know the chilling facts, you'll see him in your nightmares. And he'll see in you in hell.
