New Friday The 13th Style Summer Camp Slasher Game Coming From Tom Savini And Harry Manfredini

Our readers have been impatiently waiting for a proper Friday The 13th game to be released on the next gen consoles for years now with the hope that something official would be announced. Sadly, it doesn't look good as of right now, but a new project that was just announced last week sounds very promising.

Wes Keltner, Gun Media and their development team have enlisted the help of Horror icon and Friday The 13th alumni Tom Savini along with legendary composer Harry Manfredini to create a Summer camp themed slasher video game in the vein of the Friday The 13th films titled Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp. This will be the first in a series of themed slasher games, but it is no secret that Summer Camp is an ode to Friday The 13th. Heck, it's splashed right across the game's website with the quote:

"This is my love letter to the Friday the 13th film series." - Wes Keltner, Creator, Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp

So what can we expect from the game? Savini is a consultant on the game play and Manfredini is scoring the music. There will be 6-8 players where you can play as a counselor or the killer. The game will be available on PC, Xbox One and PS4. There is nothing else on the project for now, but check out some concept art and the announcement trailer for the game below.
