DecayNY Sculpts 'A New Beginning' Jason
DecayNY Entertainment was commissioned to create the various hockey masks for the upcoming Friday the 13th: The Obsession web series due out this Fall. Now, artist Gene Mazza and that company have an interesting project in the works and it has to do with the brief appearance of Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning.
Gene posted on our Facebook page, the following:
New Jason bust, work in progress from DecayNY Entertainment. At this point, we've seen dozens upon dozens of replicas based on each entry in the series, except for one, so it's ripe time for something new - - Even though he was barely in it, I've always wondered what he looked like under the hockey mask in Part V: A New Beginning.
This should turn out to be a very interesting look for Jason, which you can see below. The images of the early sculpt of the character give off a Part 4 vibe, which Gene also mentioned was one half of the look he is going for. The other half is utilizing the look of Jason from Jason Lives. Check out the images below, leave us your thoughts, and we will let you know more information when it is available!
This is an interesting look! I wonder what the colors for this will eventually be?
ReplyDeleteThanks Sean! We're going to be offering it up in two versions - - both human AND zombie! Just have to be really careful not to go too far with sculpting certain details, otherwise it won't work as well. I'm hoping to have it finished in time to get the mold done on Monday. I'll most certainly keep the site up to date ;-)
