Friday the 13th Props and Douglas Tait At The Movie Event

This past weekend, The Movie Event was held in Grugahalle Essen, Germany. The convention brought numerous stars of film to Germany and Jason Voorhees himself, Douglas Tait was in attendance. Also, a very big treat for Friday the 13th fans was that Mario Kirner brought some of the Friday the 13th props from his collection to display for fans.

Mario and Doug both mentioned that they had an absolute great time interacting with the fans. The unique situation that this event brought about was that a Jason Voorhees actor was able to hold the very machete and hockey mask they used during the filming of a Friday the 13th! Pictured below, Douglas Tait is shown holding the actual machete and hockey mask used during the filming of Freddy vs Jason as well as him signing for the fans.

Also pictured below is the display for the partial collection of Friday the 13th props that Mario Kirner brought to the event. There are a number of items from Freddy vs Jason, Friday the 13th 2009, Jason X and Jason Goes To Hell! Perhaps there will be an opportunity to have Mario in the United States with his props to show the fans in the future. Special thanks to Doug and Mario for supplying these images to share with the fans.

  1. Great pics guys. Thanks for sharing. I don't get out to these events at all, so it's nice to see what they look like. Also, Doug is one handsome fellow and I would love to see Mario's props up close!

  3. Douglas is a handsome guy. I wonder why he is always getting roles behind a mask. Are these props ever brought to the States?

  4. Mario was going to bring them for a convention that was supposed to happen in August 2010, but it never happened. I know he would like to bring his props to the states, but it would have to be a really good situation.

    Thanks for stopping by!
