Jason's Father Is Explored In The Crystal Lake Series!
Peacock and A24's Crystal Lake series will be doing more than highlighting the backstory of Pamela and Jason Voorhees, the show will also be exploring Jason's father as well!
Speaking with Heather Taylor, series stars Linda Cardelinni and William Catlett were asked if the show will explore elements of Jason's father and their responses indicate that fans will indeed find out some things about the infamous and underutilized character.
Of course, Jason's father did appear in the 2007 one-shot comic Pamela's Tale, and he also was written into the original script for Jason Lives: Friday The 13th Part VI. Eventually, "Elias" was removed from the story for Jason Lives, and no scenes were ever shot of the character, but the excised scenes with Mr. Voorhees did live on in the official novelization of the film and for the 2009 special edition DVD release.
Some fan films have also written in Jason's father to their stories, but having this character be explored officially in a franchise production is exciting. Watch the interview below where Linda is extremely hesitant (for good reason) in answering the question of Jason's father and his involvement in the show as she gently replies that we will receive interesting tidbits about Jason's father. William's response is even more telling as he expresses he did not enjoy shooting his scene related to Mr. Voorhees.
The full eight-episode season of Crystal Lake premieres on Peacock (U.S.) on October 15, 2026 (all episodes at once and 60 minutes in length each); also, on Sky Atlantic/NOW in the UK/Ireland, HBO Max across Europe, Middle East, and Africa, and Crave in Canada.
Crystal Lake stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees, with Callum Vinson as young Jason Voorhees, plus William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, Gwendolyn Sundstrom, and others (including Nick Cordileone as Crazy Ralph).
Brad Caleb Kane is executive producing Crystal Lake together with A24 and an executive producing team that includes Marc Toberoff and Victor Miller (Friday 13th LLC), Robert M. Barsamian and Robert P. Barsamian (Horror Inc.), Stuart Manashil, Tyson Bidner, Michael Lennox and Roy Lee.
