Terry Ballard, Responsible For Hockey Mask In Franchise, To Attend First Convention

Terry Ballard spent a majority of his career as a prop master on a number of film and television shows, such as Soylent Green, Meatballs 2, and The A-Team. He didn't know it at the time, but his short stint as a consultant on Friday The 13th Part 3 would change the course of the franchise and pop culture forever. As the story goes, the crew on Part 3 was struggling to figure out what mask Jason Voorhees would wear in the film. One day, Terry showed up to the set with an old 1950's Detroit Red Wings goalie mask. Director Steve Miner and the effects crew loved the look, made some alterations to the mask and decided to use it in the film. The rest, as they say, is motion picture history.

More than thirty five years later, Terry is making his first convention appearance to meet the fans and we are sure there will be a lot of questions to be asked of him. You can talk to Terry (who also played a State Trooper in Part 3) at Horror At The Plex the weekend of October 13-14, 2017 in Hindman, Kentucky.
