New Friday The 13th Films Early Spring 2017 In Atlanta!

We have been waiting almost eight years to say this, but a new Friday The 13th will begin filming in a few months! Early Spring 2017 to be a bit more precise, and casting will begin next month in December! In an interview with Collider, Platinum Dunes spill the beans on the production and what to expect from Mr. Voorhees for 2017.

First off, filming will take place in Atlanta where the PD crew revealed they have found an ideallic lake and camp setting for this franchise, dare we say again, reboot of one of the most popular film franchises in history. Read below for their thoughts on the journey to this point of impending production.

From Collider

“No, Jason is a POV movie. So, it was very hard to wrap our head around how you would do a Friday the 13th that was found footage, knowing that we really need the Jason perspective of watching. We didn’t want to break the DNA of that. We also battled: do we do a sequel to the original? Do we pick up where we left off with Jared and Amanda at the end of the movie? Somehow, that didn’t find a home. So, it’s been eight years. It will be eight years since we made the last one. I’m here to say that we found the location. We have found the lake, we have found the camp. We found an amazing script by Aaron Guzikowski. Breck Eisner is directing the movie. That movie is shooting in early Spring.”

This is very exciting times as we are ever so close to finally seeing Jason on the big  screen once again! Keep an eye out for casting announcements in the next few weeks everyone.
