New Friday The 13th Film Details Emerge, Origin Tale And Pamela Voorhees' Return!

Now here is some pretty exciting news that was just dropped by The Reel Word. During their interview with Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller about the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel, the site found out some exciting details about the script for the next Friday The 13th film. First of all, it seems like this new script by Aaron Guzikowski is going to be used to make the next film and we should here some news on the greenlight very soon. With that being said, Fuller had some more new info to offer on where Friday The 13th may be going.

The first point made about the the new film is that will be exploring the origins of Jason Voorhees and his mother Pamela! We all know that found footage was heavily pushed by Paramount for many years and that idea was scrapped, but Fuller mentioned this about writer Aaron Guzikowski's new take on the Voorhees saga:

"Aaron’s story has great characters…You kind of have to understand Jason Voorhees, so we go back and we kind of started over and work our way forward.”

With this statement, it was asked if the new film would be an origin story. Brad said the following:

“Origin-ish, but it’s an origin that no one has seen before. Obviously Pamela’s there, but it’s a little bit different from what you’ve seen before.”

So this is sounding promising, and since the Turtles movie is releasing this week, perhaps Platinum Dunes can finally move forward on the long in-development follow-up to their 2009 film.

Are you excited about an origin story and possible re-imagining of Jason and his mother?
