Advertising: 'Friday The 13th Part 7' Japanese Home Video Display

One of the great things about being a collector in this film franchise hobby is seeing what is being used to promote films in other countries.

One of our long time friends, daizab, has been sharing items from his Japanese Friday the 13th collection for many years now and has shared some awesome marketing and promotional items created for the Japanese home video market. One of those items is a display for Japanese video stores for Friday The 13th Part 7: The New Blood. Below is a fold-out cardboard display that was used to promote the film in those stores. These photos show the front and back of the display as it is closed.

Notice on the photos below that the right side of the open display show promos for the previous five films in the Friday the 13th franchise. Since these films were distributed through CIC video, the original 1980 film does not appear as that film is distributed through Warner Brothers internationally on home video. Also, notice as you open the display that Jason's hockey mask appears, and as you open it all of the way the mask splits apart to reveal Jason's face! This is a great homage to the classic scene in the film when Tina uses her telekinetic power to unmask Jason.

Anyone who follows this website knows that we are big fans of Japanese promotional materials and this display does nothing to deter that thinking. Big thanks to daizab for the images! Enjoy the photos below and let us know what you think.
