Could Jason Voorhees Appear In Mortal Kombat X?

It seems like an eternity has passed since rumors of Jason Voorhees appearing in a Mortal Kombat game last hit the World Wide Web and truth be told, it almost became a reality. It was first talked about over three years ago when someone with inside knowledge of the previous Mortal Kombat game and those DLC characters revealed that Warner Bros. had licensed out both Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger for the popular fighting game. Ultimately, only Freddy was included in the game and Jason fans' hopes were dashed. Well, lets start the rumor mill churning once again shall we.

At last week's E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) event, the latest Kombat game (Mortal Kombat X) was revealed and fans of the game began asking questions about which classic characters would return and who might be on the DLC list. On Twitter, many fans sent their questions to creator Ed Boon, who was gracious enough to reply with a number of responses. One response caught our attention and is a very small tease that we might see Jason Voorhees in Mortal Kombat when the next game is released.

It is encouraging to see that Mr. Boon did not just dismiss the thought of Jason as he would make a profitable downloadable character. If Mr. Voorhees is added to the game, we hope he gets his original shirt and pants to wear from the first few films as fans would eat up the killer in his nostalgic look from the 1980's.
