Horror Inc. Returns To Produce New Friday The 13th Television Series!

That's correct everyone, Horror Inc. is returning to help produce the brand new Friday The 13th television series! As most of our readers know, Horror Inc. was responsible for producing a number of the feature films that were released in the 1980's and now Robert Barsamian is back with his company to help breathe life into Crystal Lake on the small screen. Sean Cunningham is also on board to help produce and a bevy of other Producers are along for the canoe ride. The show was conceived by Daniel Farrands (Crystal Lake Memories) & Geoff Garrett.

UPDATE: No Time Traveling Jason In Series

Last year, we brought you the first news that the new series, tentatively titled Friday the 13th: Crystal Lake Chronicles was in the works with many fans still a bit skeptical if it was ever truly going ot happen. Well, according to Deadline, along with a number of productions companies, writers Bill Basso (Terminator) and Jordu Schell (Avatar) have been hired to create an hour long television series based on the events of the Friday The 13th films and the Crystal Lake region! They look to re-imagine Jason in multiple time periods. Roy Knyrim (Gods And Monsters) of SOTA FX will create the special make-up effects for the television series.

FROM DEADLINE
“Jason Voorhees is synonymous with the genre and we plan to build on this legacy with a provocative and compelling take that expands upon the storylines that have already thrilled millions worldwide,” explained Cunningham. Said Barsamian: “Expect the show to take viewers in some exciting new directions that we’re confident will not only excite existing fans of Friday The 13th but also attract new audiences to the situations and characters that inhabit the small town of Crystal Lake.”

This is pretty exciting news and this writer has been waiting a long time to see this happen since I first heard about this last Summer. What are your thoughts on having Horror Inc. return to produce an actual series about Jason and Crystal Lake?
