Crystal Lake Memories Doc Brings In Friday The 13th Cinematographer

One of the biggest complaints about Friday The 13th 2009 was that it looked and felt just like a Texas Chainsaw Massacre film. Now, most people made this complaint knowing that the director, Marcus Nispel, directed the 2003 remake of Texas Chainsaw and that Platinum Dunes produced that film as well. However, the tie that truly binds the fans argument belongs to the cinematographer of Friday The 13th 2009.

Last week, the fine folks who are putting together the new Friday The 13th documentary, Crystal Lake Memories: The Definitive Documentary, brought in cinematographer Daniel Pearl for his interview and it will be real interesting to hear is thoughts on the making of the newest Friday the 13th. What's even more interesting about Mr. Pearl is that not only did he work on the 2009 film and the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but he also was the cinematographer on the original 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre as well!

Daniel's photo from his interview is below. Do you think his work was good in the latest Friday the 13th? Was his talents misplaced for a Jason Voorhees film?
