Friday The 13th Director To Helm Hack/Slash Film

Marcus Nispel (Friday The 13th 2009) has come aboard the oft in-development film for Relativity Media, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Nispel's last effort, the remake of Conan The Barbarian did not do very well at all at the box office, but that film's violent action along with his work in the Friday The 13th and Texas Chainsaw franchises seem to make Nispel the perfect fit for this film.

For those that are not familiar with the story of Hack/Slash, we refer to the explanation from THR below:

Hack/Slash, created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli, centers on Cassie Hack, a woman who symbolizes the cliché of the lone girl who survives at the end of every horror movie. In this case, the girl not only survived but has become a killer of killers. Hack travels across the country hunting slashers in the vein ofHalloween's Michael Myers,Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees and A Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger, along with a hulking protector named Vlad.

Perhaps we'll get that Jason Voorhees crossover with this pair that fans have been drooling over for some time. Victor Crowley from the Hatchet films has already appeared in a crossover effort with the Hack/Slash duo.

  1. I really hope they don't screw this up. I love Hack/Slash, and I'd hate to see it get a crappy adaptation.
