Friday The 13th: The Film Franchise Has First Anniversary

So, my little project has made it an entire year! For those of you that know me and have followed my writing from other websites, you know that my starting up this Friday The 13th: The Film Franchise website was a very spur of the moment, sudden situation. For those readers that caught on to this special place since it began operation, you should know that the Friday The 13th films are a passion for this writer and that passion drives this website.

This past year has been a tremendous journey in learning technology as it relates to this site as well as learning to reach out to others in the community and really make a site that is a central hub for all things Friday the 13th. Our  website will celebrate its first anniversary on December 20th, and something that started very small has grown quite large. This site has a long way to go and has the makings of something very unique and special and really is an extension of every single fan out there who has followed these movies for over three decades.

The goal here is to have an immerse and interactive website that not only reports the latest news pertaining to the slasher series, but uncovers new and interesting topics that fans may not have known about before. Thank you to everyone who reads our news and forum topics and contributes their thoughts. If there is anything you would like to see included or added in 2012, please let us know in the comments below, or send us an email at contact@fridaythe13thfranchise.com.

Christmas Giveaway
UPDATE: Winner Has Been Chosen. Congrats To Neil Bronkovich! An email has been sent.

One more thing. Since it is Christmas time, I thought it would be fun to give away a Friday The 13th Part 3 hockey mask! I would like to hear about everyone's opinion of our website, what they are doing for Christmas, or what they would like to accomplish in 2012. Leave your comments below and one person will be chosen next Friday, December 23rd to receive a replica hock from Part 3. Please make sure to enter your current email address in the comment form below so the winner can be contacted.

Thank you so much for including this site in your daily routine and I hope to bring even more Friday the 13th news and goodness to the fans in 2012. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Sincerely,
Jason Parker

  2. I found this site about 6 months ago. Ever since, I have come to it almost everyday looking for updates about the franchise. I have not been disappointed. I have found your site offers news before the more well known horror sites. It's a great place to come to and I will continue to come to it as long as you have it up. I also want to get me a copy of that 'Friday the 13th' score CD collection!!! Hope to hear new Blu-ray news in the New Year!!! Happy Birthday!!!

  7. I began to follow you as a writer on another website. Because of your interest in the friday the 13th subject, I started to re-visit a site that I only went to very occasionally. Noticing, at the end of 2010, that something missing I began to look around the web and gladfully found your new home at the beginning of January 2011 and have been here every day since.

All this to say that with your writing and your passion for the subject, you were able to bring me back to a world that meant so much to me as a kid. I am now 32 years old and my interest in this franchise has never been higher...All thanks to you and your work.

So, keep up the good work and you can count me  in for 2012 and beyond

  8. I have been with this site since Valentines Day, I think. It is one of the best sites on the net, period! Give me more Friday The 13th everyday. :)

  9. I love the site and have followed since it has started, as well as your postings on the other site. You have covered my costumes a lot, and for Christmas I am currently making yet another New Blood costume as a surprise Christmas present for a customer, who is a girl who's boyfriend has been a big fan of my costumes for a long time, and is secretly having me put together a lie-sized New Blood to surprise him with on Christmas. Should be epic, and totally unexpected! In 2012 I plan on making a lot more costumes and new stuff, and taking my work to even higher levels. Got lots of surprises in store!

  10. Congratulations on your 1st Anniversary on the web!  Even though I don't post comments often on the website,  I do visit on a regular daily basis. It's great how you are able to come up with and discover new and exciting things to update us about daily when it comes to the Friday universe.  Your website has grown and sometimes, when browsing the site, I often find an article or news story I missed.  It's great to discover new things and learn something new about my favorite slasher film series of all time.  I think you do a great job and wish you much success with the site in the future.  Keep up the great work!

  11. I’ve been, like many others here, a huge fan from a very early age. I can vividly recall renting parts 1, 2 and 3 over and over again every weekend (We rented a VCR from our local video store back then too. In the beginning very few people owned them yet so for a small fee you could rent the machine as well as the video). I had watched them all in sequence and when “The Final Chapter” came out I begged to be taken to the local drive-in to see it. What a great experience seeing that movie on the big screen sitting outside in front of my parents car on a blanket with a friend. I saw “A New Beginning” in the same fashion as well but by the time “Jason Lives” came out I had to go to an indoor theater, still awesome but not the same. TFC is still by far my favorite movie but I’m really not sure if it’s because it’s a superior movie or because it will always hold the memory of my 1st viewing?? This site has been an incredible resource in reliving those early memories. The information here has rekindled my passion for the series. I never stopped being a fan but after becoming obsessed with the content you offered I went from a nostalgic point of view to more of a historian perspective soaking up every bit of knowledge I could get my hands on. I do believe I am a serious fan, I do not have any of the cool merchandise you so frequently show here but just because I don’t have a “Friday den” doesn’t change the fact that I love the series. I don’t post very often but just wanted to share this and congratulate you. Thank you for the countless hours of entertainment and facts and please keep updating us all on anything Friday the 13th!!!

  12. Hey, Jason...

Congrats on celebrating this site's 1 year anniversary. It's grown, and it's still getting better. As always, when i need something to fulfill my need for something Jason Voorhees, there are two places I go. 1. The actual movies. 2. This website!

It's pages like this that helps keep the Friday franchise going... Eventually, there will be another movie...but us diehards want more than the occasional movies those Hollywood suit and ties throw at us.

And so, we enter YEAR TWO! Let this party begin!

The site is fantastic. The work you have accomplished is incredible. Don't change that up, brother!

If there is ever anything I can do to help out, just let me know.

  17. This site reminds of a little girl in a pink dress, sticking a hotdog through a doughnut!

    All the best for 2012!

  18. Awesome website.  Just when I thought I knew everything there is to know about FT13, you guys present something new and exciting.  Keep up the great work.

For 2012, I have plans to move away from shooting short films and shoot my first feature length horror film.

Congrats on year one.  Looking forward to many more.

For Christmas I am spending it with my bf and we are cooking dinner and probably watching movies. This is the first year we've had a tree at his house so it's really nice! 21. Congratulations! Has anyone been to that 'other' website you used to write for? I did once by accident. In 2012, my hopes and dreams are that you will branch out and make yourself the horror icon you deserve to be. Keep up the good work.

  22. This should be considered the official Friday the 13th website. It's definitely the best one on the web right now.
I'm probably going to watch Friday the 13th 1-4 on Christmas day. It doesn't have to be Friday the 13th or Halloween to enjoy the best franchise in horror.
Thanks for making and continuing such a great web site. Even after all the years I've been a fan you surprise me by posting inside info I didn't know. That's pretty great IMO.

  23. Well, I'll certainly put in.  I have really enjoyed this Friday site
since it popped up, and the forum here has been an absolute joy!  The
main reason I've really liked the forum is that the people posting in it
all seem to be here to discuss Friday flicks, and NOT devolve into the
chaos and personality conflicts I've seen on others.

    Jason has
created a great environment for not only news and info, but also an
outlet for fans to express their works regarding the series as well.  I
know it's been a friendly setting for my fan film.

    So I say
congratulations to Jason for this great site getting to its first year
of many!  For Christmas, I'm afraid I have to be boring.  I will be with
my family all day, and we have a number of little activities planned.
In the evening I will no doubt get back to work on editing and post
    production on our current comedy.

Then on the 29th?  Knee surgery- yay!

First off, a big thank you to Mr. Parker for all the work you have put in to my favorite website. Congrats on the anniversary, I'm sure it will be the first of many.

As for the holidays, this horror fan will be with family, wearing my Freddy sweater in everyone's photos :). Maybe I can find a copy of Silent Night, Deadly Night for later :).

My only wish this holiday season is that the stress of this time does not overwhelm anyone. It can get crazy thinking about gifts, money, time, etc. I live across the street from the main mall out here in the San Fernando Valley, and I have seen some of the rudest most inconsiderate behavior in the name of xmas. It's ridiculous. So be good, and not just to yourself.

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS. JASON LIVES...

First off, congratulations to Mr. Parker on the first of many anniversaries for my favorite website. You put in the work, and it shows. Thank you.

For the holidays, this horror fan will be wearing my Freddy sweater to all the family gatherings, and hopefully I can find a copy of Silent Night Deadly Night for later :)

  28. I've always loved looking up old Friday The 13th Tidbits. I thought i read everything there was to know untill i came across your Facebook page. Now when i see you post something new i always get excited to open the link and to see what you found out about the subject and for me to learn new and fun things about my favorite franchise in the horror genre. This Christmas im going to watch some of the older Friday the 13th's by the lit Christmas tree. I'm hoping to make this a Friday the 13th Christmas because that is all i've been asking people to give me since November 1st!  I enjoy your website and look forward to future posts of trivia and news. Thankyou for making my days a little brighter. Horrorfan232003@yahoo.com.

  30. Big thanks to everyone who commented below. You guys are awesome and I am really glad that you enjoy the website so much. I make this a personal guarantee that there will be more unique content to come in 2012!

  31. Jasons fury you always made it so interesting and added unique and fresh perspectives on the series constantly, I was saddened when you left the other site, and since then I don't even visit anymore, what the hell is a Forum anyway? It got so lame and became dead and rarely active just as the Halloween site.  I am so glad you have picked up where you left off, you are the definative webmaster for this series in my book, because as I said before you always add a fresh perspective and add somthing new almaost every day!  This cannot be easy to do. I commend your committment to the series, and this is coming from a 41 year old kid who grew up literally as the series did. i love alll thing Friday and Jason and wish you the best of luck, Keep up the good work!
