Opening Scene For Friday the 13th: The Obsession Revealed

The new web series, Friday the 13th: The Obsession has been making a lot of news lately. Recently, the creative team behind the new project announced that they secured the production budget necessary to produce the web series they envisioned. Now, the opening of the series has been revealed.

One subject that producers want to make sure that fans understand is that the plot of the web series, an obsessed fan that takes on the persona of Jason, is not without the presence and essence of Jason Voorhees. Jason indeed is a big part of this web series, and to make sure fans rest easy, we wanted to report the opening of the first episode of the web series. The opening scene was just announced at the official Facebook page for the series. Below is what the creators mentioned for the series.

The series opens at Crystal Lake where the 'real' Jason slashes his way through the lead's (Hannah Townsend) friends in her nightmare. This scene will set the tone that no matter what new levels of characterization and story the series takes you, its still a F13 story at its heart, by fans, for fans.. with a new twist.

Obsession is about a obsessed fan of the Friday the 13th series, taking on Jason's persona, so the actual 'Jason Voorhees' is only in 2 or 3 major sequences, and in scattered visions throughout...  with the 'pseudo' Jason taking on the killings in much of the rest of it.

  1. Sounds like an awesome opening. Can't wait to hear more. I am a little skeptical about the fan taking on the persona of Jason, but I am open to see what happens!

  3. Thanks to Freddy vs Jason, we may never be rid of it! I do see why it was used for the reboot as it makes sense if he is a living guy and needs to be warm living out in the woods. ;)
