IT Series Showrunner Joins Crystal Lake Series As Cast Member

 Jason Fuchs, a screenwriter, producer, and actor known for projects like Wonder Woman (2017), Argylle (2024), and the upcoming live-action My Hero Academia adaptation for Netflix, is confirmed to be involved in the Friday The 13th series Crystal Lake. Fuchs has a small acting role in Crystal Lake, appearing in some episodes, though details about his character remain undisclosed. Crystal Lake showrunner Brad Caleb Kane praised Fuchs' performance as "pretty great"

This casting was revealed during New York Comic Con discussions in early October with Comic Book Resources, and highlighted Fuchs' enthusiasm after reading the scripts. His involvement adds an interesting layer to the production, as Fuchs is also the co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer for another horror prequel series, It: Welcome to Derry (premiering on HBO on October 26, 2025). 

Brad Caleb Kane, who serves as showrunner and creator for Crystal Lake, is a writer and show runner on Welcome to Derry as well, creating a very interesting connection between the two shows. 

Crystal Lake is an upcoming American horror television series developed as a prequel to the iconic Friday the 13th film franchise. Produced by A24 and set to stream exclusively on Peacock, it explores the origins of Jason Voorhees and his mother, Pamela Voorhees, in a doomed small town where camp counselors meet grisly fates. The series blends slasher elements with deeper character backstories, including various iterations of Jason familiar to franchise fans, and is described as an "expanded prequel" set primarily in 1970-1971 at Camp Crystal Lake.
