The Cure's Robert Smith Becomes Jason Voorhees In New Horror Comic Cover Series

Jason Voorhees will undoubtedly be etched in pop culture for all time and talented artists love to continually use his persona and look to commemorate other iconic figures and events in history. Such is the case with the artist known as Butcher Billy as he has taken rock icon Robert Smith of the band The Cure, and given him his own series of images he's named "Tales of the Smith".

Butcher Billy has opted to use the comic book genre as a guide for his new project. The Cure's Smith is portrayed in a series of retro style horror comic covers, and as an ode to his band, each of the horror comics in this series are named after a particular song by The Cure. In addition, some of the art in this series are represented with homages to past iconic horror movies. These homages can be found in the title of comic cover and below you can see one of his cover art pieces is titled, Friday I’m In Love, a tribute to Jason Voorhees and the Friday the 13th franchise.
