Mortal Kombat X Jason Voorhees Details Revealed And Extended Gameplay Video

Late yesterday, NetherRealm Studios previewed a ton of new Jason Voorhees Mortal Kombat X footage. During the KombatKast, the guys showed off all three of Jason’s character variations: Slasher, Relentless, and Unstoppable. The three different takes on Mr. Voorhees give players different sets of attacks and movement.

The footage we have posted below (Courtesy Gamespot) is very detailed with gameplay walk-through for all three of Jason’s fighting styles. Below is a breakdown of what you can expect from each Jason Voorhees variation.

- Slasher: This variation focuses on Jason using his iconic weapon of choice, the machete. He can use it to strike opponents in combos as well as a projectile.

- Relentless: This variation focuses on teleportation, for which he disappears into mist on one side of the screen and out from the other. This is a really cool feature that is reminiscent of the films when he stalks victims. This Jason wears a more metallic hockey mask.

- Unstoppable: This variation might be the best as it contains a nifty "Pursuit" option that strikes fear into your opponent and can disorientate them. Jason also wears the iconic chain around his neck from Part 7 for this variation. The chain has two different abilities associated with it, one that regenerates health and one that makes him dish out more damage. Also, this Jason can’t be killed.....well at least not the first time. Once an opponent player "kills" Jason, the game will take whatever portion of his meter remains and resurrect Mr. Voorhees with up to 20% health. Basically, Jason comes back from the dead, just like in the Friday the 13th films.

Also, there are two fatalities Jason dishes out for victory. One can be viewed towards the end of the  video above and the other can be viewed in a separate video below. I personally like the fatality seen in the first video above. It has a classic Friday The 13th vibe where the victim begs for their life and Jason looks menacing in the final moments before he kills his victim.

The Jason Voorhees character is available to play today if you purchased the Kombat Pack. On May 12th, Jason can be purchased as an individual DLC.
