Screen Original Friday The 13th In Town It Was Filmed!

The Historic Blairstown Theater in Blairstown, New Jersey has it's own assortment of rich history being very popular up until the 1930's with silent films and had a strong run for many years until it was shut down for a time in the 1960's. Outside of the theatrical history of the building itself, the Historic Blairstown Theater also has the unique distinction of being seen in the original Friday The 13th film that was released in 1980. As such, it has become a popular building to take photos of by touring fans looking for the filming locations for the original Voorhees slasher whodunit.

Every so often the theater owners decide to have an actual screening of Friday The 13th 1980 (usually on a Friday The 13th) to commemorate the theater and the town of Blairstown's place in the Friday The 13th film franchise. The year 2013 only makes sense for a screening of the classic film in the town it was shot, and the theater owners agree! On Friday September 13th at 8:00 PM, the Historic Blairstown Theater will present Friday The 13th 1980 for all fans to attend. Please visit their website, thehbt.com, for more information.

This is a great opportunity for fans to not only tour the town that gave birth to the franchise, but actually watch the film in one of the locations that appeared in the seminal slasher classic!
